R&B singer Rihanna has released a sexy new music video for her ballad California King Bed, the sixth official single off her latest album, Loud, reports MTV.
The video – which was shot in California and directed by Anthony Mandler – opens on the lingerie-clad singer lying on her back in an open field, before the action moves to an open-air bedroom. There, Rihanna snuggles into the arms of a shirtless lover, until, over the course of the song, distance grows between the two.
The video begins in color but switches to black-and-white about halfway through, before finally returning to color as the clip closes out on Rihanna back in the same field as she started.
The new single was chosen with help from her fans. In February, the singer polled her Twitter audience for suggestions.
"Question existing: I’m shootin a new vid in a cpl wks, I just need u to tell me, which song should I shoot? What is my next single?" she wrote, a week before announcing California King Bed as the victor.
