Rihanna taken to hospital

The singer was briefly hospitalized at the beginning of the week but is doing fine.

Singer Rihanna was taken to a Swiss hospital after her concert in Zurich on Monday night (April 19). People reports she is doing fine and can carry on the European leg of her Last Girl on Earth tour.

Sources say the 22-year old was hospitalized at a private clinic for an injury to her side. Alenka Ambroz, a spokesperson for the Hirslanden hospital, confirmed, "Rihanna came yesterday evening to the emergency room."

A rep for the Rude Boy singer verified the incident, saying Rihanna "had an injured rib and went to have it looked at to be sure it was nothing serious, and it wasn’t."

The singer was able to perform Tuesday night (April 20) in Lyon, France and the next night too (April 21) in Marseille.

Her rep went on to say: "All is okay and the tour is going great."

Rihanna kicks off the North American leg of her tour in Seattle in July. She will be joined by pop sensation Ke$ha.

Rihanna spent more than three weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with her Rude Boy single. Her album Rated R went directly to the top of the chart when it was released on November 20, 2009.
