Rihanna’s new fragrance debuts next month

Barbadian pop star’s Reb’l Fleur to be launched next month.

Next month, Barbadian songstress Rihanna, 22, will finally launch her first fragrance Reb’l Flower, reports Coco Perez.

The star explained the name of the fragrance was inspired by her grandmother in Barbados, who nicknamed Rihanna her "rebel flower.” The singer also sports a scripted tattoo that reads “rebelle fleur.”

Rihanna also revealed details about what she wanted from her first perfume: "Something that said ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.”

The Barbadian pop star’s fragrance is described as bold and intense, with sophisticated floral notes of tuberose, violet and hibiscus, with a hint of coconut. The scent was created by Caroline Sabas and Marypierre Julien, and will be distributed by Parlux.

Initially the packaging was a pink and gold box with graphic design, but was later changed to a photograph of the red-tressed singer pensively stopping to smell the roses.

Reb’l Fleur is the first fragrance by Rihanna and was introduced in October 2010 at the duty-free trade conference, TFWA World Exhibition, in Cannes. The fragrance will be offered next month in department stores in the United States and will retail for $49.

Rihanna has just released her fifth studio album, Loud, last November, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, becoming the fifth top-ten album in her U.S. career.
