Ringo Starr’s ‘Y Not’ Tour

Former Beatle Ringo Starr is looking forward to being back on the tour bus.

Despite the fact that the musician is now 69, Starr, who is one of the most well-known drummers, is planning to hit the road and promote his latest album, Y Not.  Starr has been able to find his own niche in the music industry since the split of the Beatles, and Y Not marks his 15th solo recording.

The new release features several collaborations with other stars, including Paul McCartney, who fully enjoyed the opportunity to make music again with his former bandmate.

Among the other artists who contributed to the album are Joe Walsh, who is Starr’s brother-in-law, as well as Joss Stone, Ben Harper, Van Dyke Parks, Don Was, and members of the ex-Beatle’s All Starr Band, Edgar Winter, Billy Squier, Gary Wright and Richard Marx.

Starr plans to tour in 2010 to promote the new album.  So far, only Wally Palmer, the singer and guitarist of The Romantics, is on board to take the stage with Starr as part of the band.
