Robert DeNiro and Diane Keaton go Gently Down the Stream

Stars reunite on-screen for the third time.

Having starred together in The Godfather: Part II in 1975 and Marvin’s Room in 1996, Robert DeNiro, 67, and Diane Keaton, 65, will reunite a third time for the indie comedy Gently Down the Stream, reports Variety.

Written and directed by The Bucket List screenwriter, Justin Zackham, the two actors play a long-divorced couple who, for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding and his biological mother, pretend they are still married. They are unable to keep up the pretense for long, and the relationship begins to unravel in a very public fashion.

Katherine Heigl and Amanda Seyfried have also been confirmed for the film, which has been retitled The Big Wedding for foreign overseas sales.

Filming will begin in July on location in Greenwich, Connecticut, with a release date planned for 2013.

Robert DeNiro and Katherine Heigl star in New Year’s Eve out December 9. Diane Keaton co-stars with Kevin Kline in the drama Darling Companion due in theaters next year, and Amanda Seyfried stars opposite Justin Timberlake in the thriller Now coming to the big screen October 28.
