Roberto Cavalli to launch new line of accessories

Italian designer recently opened first Tokyo boutique.

Italian designer Roberto Cavalli has announced plans to launch a new line of accessories, CLASS Roberto Cavalli for its Class brand, a high-end label under the The Roberto Cavalli Group umbrella, reports WWD.

The Florence-based company signed a five-year licensing deal with Compagnia delle Pelli for the production of both men’s and women’s bags and small leather goods collections.

Starting in the autumn of 2012, the new accessories will be available at Cavalli’s flagship stores and in specialty boutiques across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The designer recently opened his first Tokyo boutique, and in honor of the grand opening made a few choice remarks: “I think this is a really winning strategy. I will demonstrate to the dear Mssrs. Chanel or other people like that. Fine, you dress the grandmothers and the mothers and I’ll dress the kids.”

The 70-year-old designer recently launched a new fragrance with an ad campaign starring Elisa Sednaoui.

The fragrance will be revealed in February 2012. “Elisa is self-confident and she has an amazing personality,” said Cavalli.

“She has got this animal side, she is enthusiastic, really sexy with a stunning body and hypnotic eyes. She is the woman every woman would like to be, so she is the real Cavalli woman.”
