The song Dancing on My Own by Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn was named top pop song of 2010 by popular music website Spinner Canada.
Robyn’s success is all the more sweet since she managed to win in a year that many music critics have judged to be one of the best in a long time.
This win is sure to cause some regret at Jive Records since the singer ended their decade-long relationship in 2004 when the label reacted negatively to her new electro-pop sound.
Returning to the music industry on her own terms, and with her own record label, in 2010 Robyn launched in three successive albums including the latest, Body Talk, which landed in third place for MTV’s album of the year.
