Roch Voisine, singer of the timeless classic Helena, has been selected by Carlos Santana to sing on his new duets album, Guitar Heaven.
Santana was mpressed by Voisine’s Americana trilogy, which has done well in France and is coming out in fall 2010 in Quebec, Santana invited Voisine to collaborate with him.
Sony in France has greased the wheels for this collaboration.
Santana has decided on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’.Under The Bridge. He first recorded his part and sent an engineer to Nashville so that Voisine could record his part.
"He told me to let go completely, to do as I wanted," says Voisine. "So, I had fun and made something very interesting. People will be surprised, pleasantly I hope. I had a great time participating on this project," said Voisine.
Guitar Heaven, which also contains duets with Carlos Santana, Joe Cocker, Pat Monahan, Chris Cornell, India.Arie & Yo-Yo Ma, is planned for fall 2010.
