On March 12, R.E.M., Van Halen, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Patti Smith and the Ronettes will be inducted at a ceremony in New York.
The class of 2007 will all be present at the ceremony. As for Van Halen, both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar will be included in the festivities.
To be eligible for acceptance into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, artists must have recorded their first song at least 25 years ago. The decision is then made from a panel of 750 experts in the world of music.
