About two years ago, Rodion Amirov, a Maple Leafs prospect and first-round pick in 2020, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was truly terrible news, but the young man intended to fight on and hope to play field hockey again one day.
However, today’s news is infinitely sad: young Amirov has sadly passed away at the age of 21 as a result of his battle with the disease.
