Roger Waters says Pink Floyd will not play together again

The former member of Pink Floyd says David Gilmour does not want to go along for the ride.

In 2005, one of the biggest surprises at the infamous Live 8 benefit concerts (that took place in G8 countries and South Africa) was the Pink Floyd reunion on stage in London. David Gilmour and Roger Waters put their differences aside long enough to play three songs for a good cause. Live 8 coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Live Aid benefit concert that raised funds for famine relief in Ethiopia.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Roger Waters revealed that after their 2005 reunion he was ready to get back together. However, former bandmate David Gilmour put the kibosh on the idea.

He said, "David (Gilmour) is completely disinterested in anything like that. After Live 8, I could have probably gone for doing some more stuff, but he’s not interested, so it is what it is."

In addition to Gilmour’s attitude about a possible collaboration with Waters, keyboardist Richard Wright died of cancer in 2008.

Roger Waters takes The Wall on tour around the world in 2010 and 2011. He then plans to make a new album. He has not released any new material since 1992’s Amused to Death.

The tour will stop in Toronto for two shows on September 15 and 16, in Ottawa on October 17, in Montreal on October 19 and in Vancouver on December 10.
