Ron Howard to direct Jodie Foster?

Ron Howard hoping to recruit Jodie Foster for Stroke of Insight.

Ron Howard has signed on to produce a film based on bestselling book by scientist Jill Bolte Taylor, My Stroke of Insight, and wants Jodie Foster to star in the film, says Latino Review.

The film is an adaptation of the New York Times bestseller, where a neurobiologist becomes the subject of her own study and documents her slow recovery and her brain’s ability to compensate after a debilitating stroke. The book is being translated and published in 30 countries.

Recently, Ron Howard directed The Dilemma, a dramedy due out in theatres January, 2011.

Foster recently directed The Beaver and co-stars with Mel Gibson, which has been shelved until Mel’s scandal eventually recedes from public consciousness.

Jodie Foster last film was Nim’s Island in 2008 with Abigail Breslin and Gerard Butler. In February, Foster begins filming the drama God of Carnage by Roman Polanski starring Kate Winslet.
