Royal fan: Meeting princes better than Katy Perry

A royal fan who took a picture of Princes William and Harry said it was better than meeting Katy Perry.

14-year-old schoolgirl Andrea Rubio became a viral sensation when she couldn’t contain her excitement as she managed to snap a picture of the royals after a charity polo match on Sunday (06.16.13), and the stunned enthusiast exclaimed her previous celebrity encounters don’t compare to her royal moment.

She said: ”I am so excited to be photographed with Prince William and Prince Harry.

”I never imagined all this would happen just because I took a photo. Prince Harry is my favourite – I think he is really hot.”

Andrea attended the polo game at Beaufort Polo Club in Tetbury, Gloucestershire – which saw the princes compete on opposing teams – but she never imagined she would get close to the royals.

She explained to the Gloucestershire Echo newspaper: ”I knew Princes Harry and William were going to be there but I never thought I would get near them, let alone speak to them. I asked them ‘Please may I take your picture’ and they both laughed and said yes. I couldn’t believe it. I think I may have shouted after because I was so happy.”

The schoolgirl – who is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico – didn’t realise she had become a viral sensation after newspapers and websites around the world printed pictures of her joyous reaction and only found out about her infamy through friends.

She said: ”Everyone at school kept asking me if I was wearing Burberry wellies and purple jacket at the polo. When I asked them why they told me I was in a national newspaper.”
