Rumours of a Hollywood Strike in the Air

Rumours of an actors strike are looming over Hollywood.

Last weekend, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and Alliance Motion Pictures and Television Producers (AMPTP) tried once again to work out their differences but didn’t find a common ground.

One of the issues concerns the share of revenues from Internet material and in new media. The contract between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the AMPTP is still not being respected.

This time, SAG leaders will arrange an information campaign to obtain a strike mandate. They must have 75% of the votes to begin the strike.

The last WGA strike was a costly one for Hollywood, slowing down several productions and causing the cancellation of certain seasons of television series.
