The film, a sequel from 1998’s Elizabeth, will be directed by Shekhar Kapur.
In the film, Blanchett will reprise her role as Elizabeth I. The first film followed her life as a young woman in the 16th century. Rush will play Sir Francis Walsingham, and Owen will play the role of Walter Raleigh.
Filming for The Golden Age will begin in April.
