The progressive Canadian rock band, Rush, are set to receive another award honouring their long career in the music industry from Classic Rock magazine in London, England, according to spinner.ca.

The group will collect their trophy on November 10 at the Marshall Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards at the Roundhouse venue in London. Previous recipients of the Living Legend award including Jimmy Page, Ozzy Osbourne, and Alice Cooper.

Rush is also nominated in the Film of the Year category for a documentary about their career, Beyond the Lighted Stage, which has already won the Audience Award at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.

Regarded as rock royalty, the band has influenced a number of musicians over the years including The Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, and Nine Inch Nails.

Those in the industry view Rush as notoriously under-appreciated by the world at large. Scott Rowley, editor of Classic Rock says, “Ridiculously, Rush haven’t yet been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – so it’s an honour to recognize their massive contribution to rock music at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour.”

Rush was inducted into the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
