According to Katy Perry’s fiancé, Russell Brand, 35, British comedian and actor, the couple just wants a normal wedding, reports Us magazine.
“We just love each other and we want to get married in front of our friends and family and keep it very normal,” Brand told fans Tuesday (October 14) at a New York Times Q and A in New York City. “It ain’t about selling the pictures, it ain’t about doing no pre-nup, it’s just a normal thing.”
Relatives of the couple believe a luxe six-day wedding is being planned in India, where Brand proposed last New Year’s Day. As the wedding day approaches, the couple is keeping mum on the details.
“I’m trying to preserve it, to keep it a beautiful thing," Brand explained. “I think people get the wrong idea on how we want the wedding to play out. Love between two people is the most spectacular yet ordinary thing in the world.”
American singer, Katy Perry, 25, first met Brand when she filmed her cameo for his film, Get Him to Greek. The couple began dating one year ago, and Perry says she plans to apply for dual British citizenship after the wedding.
