The two friends will be in a project from filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, which starts shooting in Australia in June.
Crowe and Kidman were supposed to work together in the past in the film Eucalyptus, but the script wasn’t strong, and the movie was shelved.
Crowe says of the new film, "It’s set in the 1930s and 40s and I can tell you it’s a romance and I do a bit of horse riding and a bit of swooning with Nic. I’ve known Nic for a long time, but we’ve never worked together."
For Crowe, he is also excited about working in his native country, where he can spend more time with his wife who is pregnant with their second child. Crowe added, "And the important thing is that it’s nearly six months working in Australia."
