Russell Crowe joins Kung Fu flick

Russell Crowe teams up again with RZA in The Man with the Iron Fist.

E! Online reports Russell Crowe signed on to star in The Man with the Iron Fist written and directed by RZA. This will be the Wu-Tang Clan rapper’s directorial debut.  He also plans to co-star in the new film and will also wear a producer hat along with Eli Roth.

This period Kung Fu film will feature RZA as a blacksmith in feudal China. No word yet on what role Russell Crowe will play but the director did mention that Crowe will have a lot of fight scenes.

RZA commented: "I won’t spoil it for you, but Russell’s gonna be the baddest man alive…That man is in fighting shape. That man will knock you out."

Shooting begins in December in Shanghai.

This is not the first time RZA and Russell Crowe have worked together. They appeared in American Gangster and also in the film The Next Three Days. This new flick also stars Liam Neeson, Olivia Wilde and Elizabeth Banks. It hits theatres on November 19.
