Ryan Gosling to make directorial debut in How to Catch a Monster

Ryan Gosling will make his directorial debut in fantasy film ‘How to Catch a Monster’, which will see him reunited with his ‘Drive’ co-star Christina Hendricks.

Ryan Gosling will make his directorial debut in ‘How to Catch a Monster’.

The 31-year-old actor admits he is "looking forward" to making the fantasy film – which will see Christina Hendricks, who he starred alongside in last year’s ‘Drive’, in the lead role – alongside producers Marc Platt and Adam Siegel.

Ryan – who also wrote ‘How to Catch a Monster – said in a statement: "I am very appreciative to Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bold Films for being so supportive and I look forward to making this film with all of them."

The movie will tell the story of a single mother of two – who is expected to be played by Christina – who is thrown into a dark fantasy world while her teenage son travels down a secret road to an underwater town.

Marc – who also worked with Ryan and Adam on ‘Drive’ – says Ryan has created a "beautifully haunting script" for the movie and insists the ‘Gangster Squad’ star will use all his acting experience to become a successful director.

He explained: "We are thrilled to be producing Ryan Gosling’s debut as a writer & director and continue our collaboration which began on ‘Drive’.

"He has composed a beautifully haunting script and has a very clear vision of how he will bring it to life. His ability to draw audiences into his world as an actor will serve him well as a filmmaker."
