Salma Hayek is Trying to Shed Pregnancy Pounds

Salma Hayek is nursing her daughter to help lose the weight she gained during the pregnancy.

The Mexican actress gave birth to her first daughter, Valentina Paloma, in September and is using many means to get back in shape.  FemaleFirst reported that Hayek’s friends told her that the best way to lose the weight was by nursing and she is following their advice.

An acquaintance told the magazine America’s Star, "Salma has been pumping and freezing endless amounts of breast milk. When she’s not feeding Valentina, she’s hooked up to an industrial-size breast pump."

However, this method does not appear to be very efficient for the actress. "Whatever she does, she still can’t drop the extra pounds," another source added.

A nursing expert, Susan Condon, advised Hayek not to push her body too far. According to Condon, nursing can help her lose the pregnancy weight without harming her or the baby, provided that she maintains a healthy diet.
