Variety reports that actor Sam Worthington, who was recently seen in Terminator Salvation, will join the cast of the film The Tourist with Charlize Theron.
He will replace Tom Cruise, who quit the project to star in a new, untitled film directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma) with Cameron Diaz.
The Tourist is a remake of the 2005 French film, Anthony Zimmer. The American version tells the story of an Interpol agent (Theron) who manipulates a tourist (Worthington) into helping expose a criminal with whom she had an affair.
The film will be directed by Bharat Nalluri (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day) and filming will begin in January.
Meanwhile, we can see Sam Worthington in Avatar, set to hit theatres on December 18.
