The annual survey by readers of Code Nest Traveler have again crowned San Francisco as the best city to visit in the United States.
The city has won for a record 17 consecutive years. The other cities that made the list include Charleston, South Carolina in second place and Santa Fe, New Mexico in third position.
More than 25 000 readers voted on a secure Website and the independent firm, Mediamark Research Inc., tabulated the votes and performed the analysis.
Although its location and beautiful landscapes add to its popularity, the choice of restaurants was one of the factors that gave San Francisco the significant boost to its first place rank.
Worldwide, San Francisco won second place behind Sydney, Australia, who also won first place last year. The cities of Bangkok, Hong Kong, Florence, Buenos Aires and Vancouver followed San Francisco in the world ranking.
