Saoirse Ronan wants The Avengers role

Saoirse Ronan, who is rumoured to be up for the part of Scarlet Witch in Joss Whedon’s ‘The Avengers’ sequel, would definitely accept the role.

Saoirse Ronan would love to be in ‘The Avengers’ sequel.

The ‘Host’ actress is reportedly in contention for a role in the highly anticipated superhero movie as new character Scarlet Witch – who, along with twin brother Quicksilver, was confirmed for the movie by director Joss Whedon – and she would certainly accept the part if it was offered to her.

Speaking to TheMarySue.com, Saoirse said: "I have heard about [the rumours] and yes, I would [love to be in it]. Yeah, of course I would.

"I love Joss and I love those films, and I love his handle on them and how he portrayed these kinds of superheroes. I think it’s very different from what anyone else has done. So yeah, I’d love to be in it."

Scarlet Witch appears in various Marvel comic books and is the daughter of ‘X-Men’ villain Magneto.

It’s not yet known who will play the character’s twin brother in ‘The Avengers’ sequel, but ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ director Bryan Singer recently confirmed that he will also introduce the character in the rival Marvel comic book movie.

‘American Horror Story’ actor Evan Peters is set to play Quicksilver in the mutant superhero flick, which is due for release next year – a year before Whedon’s ‘Avengers’ follow-up.
