A staunch supporter of Barack Obama, the 23-year-old actress still continues to defend his former rival in the Democratic race, Hillary Clinton.
In an interview with Cosmo Girl, Johansson accused the American media of being sexist in their treatment of the New York senator.
The star explained, "We still live in a country that’s sexist and racist. Seeing how the media portrayed Hillary with unbelievable sexism – some of the things that people were saying were just so overwhelming. You just couldn’t believe the names that they were calling her!"
Johansson does believe, however, that her country is finally going to see change. Speaking of the debates, she said, "These kids are just so well-informed and so interested. There were really obscure questions and debates that they wanted to lead – I couldn’t believe it!"
