Sean Penn insists that he will be impartial when making the selections for the prestigious Palme D’Or awards at the Cannes Film Festival, reports FemaleFirst.
The actor, who is the presiding judge of the event, finds it insulting when he is accused to showing favouritism to stars with whom he has worked in the past.
He spoke on behalf of the judges, commenting, "We’ve all been involved in films we’ve cared about. I don’t think there is bias involved."
He also added that the judgments will be made based on merit and the impression that the actors and films make on the judges.
