Sequels Planned for Batman and Superman

Warner Bros. plans to make new sequels for each of their successful films, Batman Begins and Superman Returns, with their respective directors, Christopher Nolan and Bryan Singer.

Although the two directors have not yet signed their contracts, the studio has hired Jonah Nolan, Christopher’s brother, to write the script for the next Batman.  The studio also hopes that actor Christian Bale will return to his role of Batman, while Brandon Routh will play Superman.

Superman Returns is expected to be in theatres on June 30.  The sequel projects may be ready for audiences in 2008 and 2009.
