Sexual peaking at age 36

A study of 1,500 people aged 45 and older suggests that men and women enjoy their sex life most when they are 36 years old.

There is a marked decrease in sexual appetite starting at age 45. As the 50s approach, respondents noted they worry about having a heart attack while having sex and so have less of it.

31% of study participants admitted they have faster sex or cut it short because they are too tired.

The average 45-year old respondent has sexual relations once a week that last 22 minutes, including foreplay.

The study was commissioned by Kwai Garlic, a company that sells natural supplements that promote health.

A Kwai spokesperson commented: "The results of the survey highlight that maintaining a healthy lifestyle together with taking care of your heart could help keep your sex life on track. People over 45 should add sex to their exercise routine in order to help maintain optimum heart health, while having fun between the sheets."
