According to the Canadian Press, the 28 year-old singer is raising money for her home town of Barranquilla, Colombia. Shakira is opening a special arts school. The school will help 1800 children who have been victims of the area’s civil war.
The school will be named Pies Descalzos (Bare Feet), and will be located in La Playa, a poor suburb of Baranquilla. Shakira hopes that the school will open its doors in 2008.
The Whenever, Wherever singer will return to her home town for the charity concert on November 15.
