According to ITV, a newspaper had published an article saying that Stone had left her son asleep in the car while she dined at The Ivy restaurant.
The 48 year-old actress was not present in the London court when the judgement was rendered. The newspaper had reported that her son was left sleeping in the car for two hours, and photographs of the boy, with his face blanked out.
Stone’s lawyer stated that the story was simply not true, and that the boy dined in the restaurant with his mother that night, and was not left alone.
The settlement money will be given to a charity by Stone.
