Shutter Island Gets Delayed

The Martin Scorcese film, Shutter Island, will not be released until February, 2010.

Paramount Pictures has decided to delay the film’s release until February.

The movie, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, was originally set to hit theatres on October 2.  However, Disney/Pixar will be releasing special 3D versions of two of their biggest hits on the same day; Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

Scorsese’s film will now be competing with the John Travolta film, From Paris with Love, and Takers, starring Matt Dillon and Paul Walker.  All of the films will hit theatres on February 19, 2010.

Shutter Island follows the story of two police officers who travel to an island to investigate a mysterious disappearance.
