According to the Hollywood Reporter, Weaver is in final negotiations for a role in the film. The 57 year-old actress would join a cast that includes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
Baby Mama follows the story of a young single woman (Fey) who wants to become a mother without interfering with her career. She then decides to find a surrogate (Poehler) to have the child.
Weaver would play the manager of a surrogate mothers agency. Filmmaker Michael McCullers will direct the project.
