Simon Pegg felt ‘obliged’ to do own stunts with Tom Cruise

Simon Pegg has confessed he felt ”obliged” to do his own stunts opposite Tom Cruise while the pair filmed ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ together.

Simon Pegg felt ”obliged” to do his own stunts opposite Tom Cruise.

The 45-year-old actor – who has appeared alongside Tom, 52, in the ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie franchise since 2006 – has confessed he felt compelled to ditch the stuntman and take on action-packed scenes himself in order to keep up with the hunky actor.

Simon – who recently filmed the fifth instalment ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ with Tom – explained: ”Tom never asks but he has a degree of professionalism you feel obliged to match, because if you didn’t you’d let the side down.

”He did all the driving and I did all the sitting in the passenger seat screaming. It was huge fun.”

And although the ‘Hot Fuzz’ star refused to use a stand in for the dangerous stunts he insists he felt completely safe putting his life in the hands of the Golden Globe-winner.

He told The Sun newspaper: ”You feel safe. He’s not reckless. You know that even though you’re haring through an alley in Casablanca at 100mph you are not in any physical danger.”

‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ hits cinemas next month.
