Simple Plan collaborates with Natasha Bedingfield on new single

Punk band also records French version of Jet Lag with Quebec singer Marie-Mai.

On a video update posted on their website, Canadian pop punk band Simple Plan announced plans to release their first collaborative single – in two languages. Jet Lag will feature British pop singer Natasha Bedingfield on the English version, and French Canadian singer Marie-Mai for French.

"’Jet Lag’ is one of my favorite songs off the record and it sounds great," said frontman Pierre Bouvier in the video.

"It’s got a female vocalist in there – my favorite kind of vocalist. Not only that, but it actually has two female vocalists, because there’s also a French version of the song… And for the English version of the song, we’ve got none other than the beautiful Natasha Bedingfield. She rocked it and it sounds amazing. She has an amazing voice and she totally blew us away with her vocal talent. I’ve always been a big fan of her stuff."

The new single, the first off their as-yet-untitled upcoming album, will be available for free streaming through the band’s official website on April 25. Both female vocalists will appear in the video for the song.

"We shot that last week. It was a riot, really. We had a great time and we’re all very, very excited," added band member Sébastien Lefebvre.
