Slayer and Megadeth Tour Delayed in Canada
Slayer frontman, Tom Araya, is experiencing back pain, forcing the Canadian Carnage Tour, originally set for November 8 in the Maritimes city of Moncton, to be postponed. The tour was next headed west.
The tour was booked for a Halifax show the following day, and then at the Montreal Bell Centre on November 11, before hitting Quebec City at the Pepsi Coliseum the night of November 12.
Araya is now taking care of his serious back problems, and is seeing a specialist, who suggested that the star immediately go under the knife. the surgery took place yesterday (November 3) in Texas.
Kerry King of Slayer said on behalf of the group, “What is foremost in our minds right now is that Tom do whatever he needs to get this taken care of.”
Megadeth also addressed their fans about the situation, saying, “While all four of us are disappointed that we won’t be able to see through all of our commitments set for the next few weeks, the most important thing is Tom’s health. We thank the fans in Canada. We look forward to seeing you all soon.”
Ticket holders are being asked to keep their tickets, since they will be accepted for the new show dates to be announced shortly.
