Sleek Scandinavian silver vintage jewelry

Gråsilver collection features works of famous silversmiths like Georg Jensen.

Behind the Gråsilver collection, stands Jacquie Gray, enthusiastic collector of Scandinavian jewelry, reports Vogue. Her childhood fascination with Swedish silversmiths has translated into a growing collection of jewelry by Scandinavian design icons of the 20th century.

Gråsilver has assembled pieces that date from the 1950s to ’70s to create an exceptional collection of vintage Scandinavian silver jewelry.

The contemporary-looking jewelry collection consists of rare one-off carefully-selected vintage pieces in sterling silver and semi-precious stones designed by celebrated Scandinavian designers like Georg Jensen, Torun Bulow-Hube, Nanna Ditzel, Hans Hansen, Bjorn Weckstrom and Henning Koppel.

The famed silversmith Geog Jensen opened his own shop in Copenhagen in 1904. Training in metalsmithing along with his fine arts degree allowed Jensen to combine the two disciplines in the tradition of the artist craftsman. Soon, the beauty and fine quality of his Art Nouveau creations caught the eye of the public and success quickly followed. By the end of the 1920s, Jensen had opened retail outlets as far ranging as New York, London, Paris, Stockholm, and Berlin.

The Gråsilver Collection is represented by Galerie Tom Dixon in London and is available in Paris at White Bird. They also display the collection on their online gallery, which is updated with new collections on a monthly basis. All available pieces are Scandinavian vintage jewelry and in collectable vintage condition.
