Sleeping better during pregnancy

There are ways to sleep easier while pregnant.

Pregnancy is a happy event but it can also cause some inconveniences. Many expectant mothers find it hard to get to sleep.

 

There are solutions out there to help expectant mothers sleep well.

 

Hormonal changes often cause fatigue in women during the first trimester of pregnancy. Energy returns during the second trimester, but disappears again for the remainder of the pregnancy. Some 53 per cent of women say they sleep less than eight hours a night during the third trimester, and 59 per cent say their quality of sleep is not as good.

 

Many ailments explain the situation: back pain, cramps, restlessness, etc. The movements of the baby in the womb can also affect your sleep. Moreover, lack of exercise and anxiety do not help. If you are anxious about the arrival of your child, your doctor can help.

 

Practicing yoga is one way to calm down and get a better quality of sleep. You can also take an afternoon nap. Lying down for twenty minutes will not prevent you from having a good night’s sleep. So try to get a bit of rest during the day, too.
