In creating her own perfume, theatrical pop performer Lady Gaga has applied the same groundbreaking creativity she brings to her costumes and staging. During an interview at an Australian radio station, she confirmed with the announcers that it was true that she was creating her own perfume based on blood and semen samples.
"The perfume smells like an expensive hooker,” Gaga said. “In terms of the process of creating the perfume, I wanted to extract the feeling and the sense of blood and semen from molecular structures. That’s where that came from. That is in the perfume but it doesn’t smell like it."”
"You just get the after-feeling of sex from the semen and then the blood is sort of primal,” she explained to the radio hosts. “ It was taken out of my own blood sample, so it’s a sense of having me on your skin.”
The new fragrance is expected out in 2012. Last October, it was reported that trademark paperwork had been file for the name ‘Monster’ to use for perfumery.
Amidst much fanfare, Gaga recently released the first single from her latest album, Born This Way, which went straight to the top of the charts.
