Snacking at night is bad for your teeth

Munching in the evening can damage the health of your teeth.

According to Danish researchers, eating after dinner or during the night increases the risk of tooth damage or tooth loss.

Researchers at the University of Copenhagen examined the medical records of 2,200 people. After this analysis, the researchers conclude that people who succumb to late night snacking damage their teeth, regardless of the food consumed.

Eating at night increases the harmful effects of substances such as sugar and acids that attack tooth enamel. Sugar is one of the main causes of cavities in particular.

According to the journal Eating Behaviours, dentists recommend brushing your teeth immediately before bedtime as this can reduce the danger of tooth damage.

In addition, people should only drink water in the last hour before brushing their teeth at the end of the day.
