According to the BBC, seven officers were injured while attempting to take the rapper into custody. Snoop Dogg himself suffered a fractured hand.
As many as 30 people were involved in the brawl, which took place on Wednesday in the airport’s terminal 1. When Snoop and his gang were told that they would be unable to board their flight, a source said they, "became abusive and pushed officers".
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was taken into custody along with five other men. The rapper was traveling to Johannesburg, South Africa.
Snoop Dogg is currently writing a series of books that will chronicle his rise to fame. The project is also expected to be made into a film.
