Snoop Dogg banned from Norway

Snoop Dogg has been banned from entering Norway for two years after trying to enter the country in possession of marijuana.

Snoop Dogg has been banned from Norway for two years.

The ‘Gin and Juice’ rapper was barred from the country after he tried to enter with eight grams of the drug marijuana in June.

His legal representative in Norway, Holger Hagesaeter, said he has "’no immediate plans to appeal," the ban and "can live with the decision."

Snoop had arrived at Kjevik Airport on his way to appear at a music festival, but ran into trouble when officials found the illegal substance.

Snoop – real name Calvin Broadus – was also carrying more cash than is legally allowed in the country, and fined the equivalent of $8,600 for his violations. However, he was allowed to go on and perform at Norway’s Hove Festival.

The 40-year-old star has numerous convictions for marijuana possession. He has previously been barred from the UK between 2007 and 2010, was dropped from a concert in The Netherlands at short notice in 2007 after being deemed an unsuitable performer and has run into visa problems in Australia. This led to him being banned from landing in the country for over a year due to his criminal record.

Earlier this year Snoop was also arrested in Sierra Blanca, Texas after being stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint and marijuana was found on his tour bus.
