Snoop’s in the doghouse

Miles Davis’ bass player sues the rapper for copyright infringement.

Michael Henderson is best known for his time playing with Miles Davis. Now the legendary bassist is suing rapper Snoop Dogg for copyright infringement.

Henderson alleges that parts of his song Riding were used on Snoop Dogg’s song Flashbacks. That track appears on the rapper’s 2008 mixtape.

He also claims that his music was used in another one of the rapper’s songs, Hands on the Wheel. Henderson says his song was used to boost interest and ticket sales in Snoop Dogg’s West Fest tour in June 2008.

Henderson is suing Snoop Dogg and Universal Records for breach of copyright. He says they did not obtain permission to use his music. He is also suing for unfair competition and unjust enrichment.

According to AllHipHop.com, the musician wants the case to be heard in a trial by jury in Michigan.
