Dubbed Glam Summer, the fashion icon has produced pieces for an audacious line that is as sophisticated and decidedly classic as the city itself.
Rykiel – famous for her uninhibited style – has decided to have fun with her newest pieces, mingling flirty, comfortable separates like wraparound silk crepe blazers with tailored shorts.
Playful and sweet elements – such as a lively cherry print bikini – mix with light and transparent chiffon dresses and gorgeous, formal floor-length silk gowns.
Prints, ruffles and feminine details bespeak an unmistakeable sophistication, while oversize pants and classic menswear-inspired items capture casual chic.
A sexy negligee embroidered with delicate silk petals rounds out the daring collection.
It is unsurprising that Rykiel should channel the City of Lights as her source of inspiration for the unique collection. The scarlet-haired fashion maven was born in Neuilly, in the western suburbs of Paris, and got her start in fashion there at age 17, when she was employed to dress the window displays in a textile store.
The exclusive Summer Glam collection by Sonia Rykiel will be available in her boutiques by mid-October.
