The two partners worked together on the films The Grudge and Boogeyman.
Sarah Michelle Gellar has not yet been confirmed to be returning to the horror film.
The director from the first film, Takashi Shimizu, who also directed the Japanese version of the film, will be returning to direct The Grudge 2.
