Soundgarden ready to hit the road this summer

First four cities are confirmed for summer tour.

American rock band Soundgarden has confirmed the first four cities for their upcoming summer tour, reports Gibson.

The band will kick things off in Toronto on July 2, before heading to Philadelphia for a July 13 show. After that, they’ll headline in Denver on July 18 and then hit Los Angeles on July 22. They are expected to announce more shows over the coming weeks.

Recently reunited with the launch of their first concert album, Live on I-5, the band is already hard at work on new material, lead guitarist Kim Thayil told Spinner.

"We’ve been at it since December, January. We’re still writing, but we have a number of songs that are complete, a number of songs that are close to being completed and a number of songs that look like they just woke up," he said.

When asked about a release date for the new album, Thayil insisted that the band is trying to keep things flexible.

"We are not going to pressure ourselves and we’re not likely to let other people pressure us. I believe that can really stress out and put a lot of pressure on a band… We’re not gonna do anything to make what we’re doing un-fun."
