Spanish art exhibition coming to Quebec

Quebec’s National Museum of Fine Arts hosts From El Greco to Dali.

A special exhibit of the great Spanish Masters from the Pérez Simon collection will be exhibited at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Quebec City from October 8 to January 9, 2011.

The public is invited to view 500 years of Spanish art through a selection of 75 paintings from the Mexican collector Juan Antonio Pérez Simon.

It’s a remarkable opportunity for Canadians to view early and modern Spanish masters including El Greco, Murillo, Goya, Picasso, Miro and Dali.

Five themes reflect the historical evolution of Spanish art from religious themes to modern masters.

On Friday, October 15 at 8:00 pm, the museum will host Guitarra, a gathering of seven guitarists who will showcase some of the finest music from the sixteenth to twentieth century written and arranged for Spanish guitar.
