The film is entitled Munich, and is expected to be released in North America on December 23, 2005. The film recounts the true story of the assasination of 11 Israeli athletes at the Olympic games in Munich in 1972.
Australian actor Eric Bana (The Hulk, Troy) will play the role of the Secret Service agent in charge of the anti-terrorist mission.
The screenplay was written by Tony Kushner, a Pulitzer Prize winner, as well as a Tony award winner. He is best known for his Broadway show "Angels in America", which also became an HBO series of the same name. Munich is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Barry Mendel, Colin Wilson and Spielberg.
