Digital radio station Absolute Classic Rock in England asked listeners to pick the best rock songs of all time.
The song Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin was chosen the favourite rock song by UK fans. The song was written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant in 1971 but was never released as a single while the band was together. It was a mainstay at high school dances and was often the finale at Zeppelin concerts.
The song narrowly beat Won’t Get Fooled Again by The Who, while Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody came in third place. Led Zeppelin also has two other songs that made the list.
