The actor will join Cher and Christina Aguilera in the musical film, being directed by Steve Antin, reports Variety.
The screenplay, written by Antin with help from Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich), tells the story of an ambitious young girl with a good voice, who works in a Los Angeles burlesque club. Tucci will play the club’s manager, and the best friend of a former dancer, played by Cher. Cher’s character soon decides to take the young dancer under her wing.
Filming is set to begin on November 9, and the flick should reach theatres about a year later.
Stanley Tucci will soon be seen in the Peter Jackson film, The Lovely Bones, which hits theatres on January 15, 2010.
