Star-studded tribute planned for Britney Spears?

Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson among those rumored to perform at VMAs.

Rumors suggest that a star-studded line up of musical guests – including Katy Parry and Lady Gaga – is scheduled to pay homage to Britney Spears during a tribute at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28, reports Female First.

"If this lineup is legit (which I’m told it is) the tribute to Britney at the VMAs is gonna be insanely EPIC!" television producer Johnathan Woodbeck wrote on Twitter.

According to reports, the tribute will open with Selena Gomez covering Spears’ Baby One More Time, followed by Perry performing Oops! I Did It Again, Janet Jackson singing I’m A Slave 4 U, Demi Lovato covering Toxic, and a Kesha and Nicki Minaj duet on Gimme More.

The show will wrap up with Lady Gaga performing Circus before Spears takes the stage to do a mash-up of her hits Hold It Against Me and I Wanna Go.

"I heart @MTV. This one is definitely going to be a night to remember," Spears tweeted late last week, lending support to the rumor – although it remains unconfirmed at this time.
